Health Agreement:

All Ocivalley kittens are fully vet checked before leaving us and will come with this health guarantee.

There are two parts to the Ocivalley Cattery health guarantee.

It covers the current health of the purchased kitten and any congenital defects in the purchased kitten that may become obvious in the future.

   Part 1

Current Health Guarantee - Ocivalley guarantees the purchased kitten-

 a) has been vet checked and is clinically healthy at time of purchase
 b) has been microchipped and registered with an Australian Pet Register
 c) is free from communicable diseases for a period of 72 hours from the date of sale
 d) has been vaccinated with the F3, (F3 vaccination covers Feline Enteritis, Feline Rhinotracheitis and Feline Calicivirus), or F4, (F4 vaccination covers Feline Enteritis, Feline Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calicivirus and Feline Chlamydia) and has provided proof of up-to-date vaccinations
 e) has been treated with a broad-spectrum worming solution from the age of 6 weeks until the collection of the kitten and has provided evidence of an appropriate worming program.
 f) has been provided with a de-fleaing solution before release.

To activate this part of the health guarantee the purchaser should take the kitten to a veterinarian within 7 days of acquisition for a health check.

The purchaser must notify Ocivalley of any claim within 24 hours of such veterinary examination.

Should the kitten be diagnosed to have contracted any serious disease or illness, Ocivalley will offer the following options at the discretion of Ocivalley if the kitten is returned within 3 days of the veterinary examination: -

  i)    full refund;  or
ii)   treatment for the deficiency;  or
iii)  a replacement kitten of equal quality and value.

   Part 2

 Congenital Defects Guarantee-

Ocivalley guarantees the purchased kitten against congenital defects for the first one year of the kittens life.

If within this period, a qualified veterinary examination finds the purchased kitten to be medically deficient with an untreatable or life-threatening congenital defect, excluding accidents or neglect, a written statement from the said veterinarian MUST be provided to Ocivalley Cattery.

If the purchased kitten dies within the guarantee period as a direct result of a congenital defect, a necropsy report by a qualified veterinarian (at the cost of the purchaser) MUST be provided to Ocivalley as proof of cause of death and to support any claim under this guarantee.
The purchaser MUST notify any claim to Ocivalley within 24 hours of such veterinary examination.

Upon receipt of the relevant veterinarian report to Ocivalley, or a necropsy (post mortem) report in the case of a deceased kitten, THE PURCHASED KITTEN WILL BE REPLACED with another kitten of equal value and equal guarantee.
Transport costs to be meet by the purchaser.
If no replacement kitten is available at that time, Ocivalley will have 6 months to furnish the purchaser with a satisfactory replacement.

Kittens are NOT guaranteed against accidental death or injury at any time after sale.

  3. General Considerations

It is considered common cattery practice and good animal husbandry to isolate any new addition to a multi-cat household for a period of time.

Ocivalley will NOT be responsible for contagious diseases to which the purchased cat/kitten is exposed during shipping that are not evident during the initial guarantee period.
The purchased kitten CANNOT be returned under this guarantee after this guarantee period has expired.
The purchased kitten SHOULD NOT be exposed to another cat or kitten that has NOT been currently vaccinated or that has exposure to other cats or kittens that are NOT currently vaccinated.
Exposures of the purchased kitten to disease or hazards will immediately TERMINATE all health guarantees or options for replacement.
The purchaser must provide immediate veterinary care to the purchased kitten that shows signs of illness or distress and failure to do so will render all health guarantees NULL AND VOID.

If the purchased cat/kitten is euthanised without the prior knowledge of Ocivalley, except in the case where a veterinarian considers it the only humane alternative, this guarantee BECOMES VOID.
Where a replacement kitten is requested or where euthanasia is requested, the Purchaser agrees to grant full access to all veterinary records to Ocivalley.   Veterinary records include copies of actual visit cards to veterinarians stating vaccinations, injuries, test results, etc. during the period the kitten is owned by the Purchaser.

NO refund or replacement will be given for any condition or defect caused by accident, neglect or malnutrition.

The purchaser is responsible for providing immediate veterinary care to the purchased cat/kitten showing signs of illness or distress.  Failure to do so will render this guarantee NULL AND VOID.
If the Purchased Cat/Kitten is diagnosed with a minor imperfection (not known at time of sale) that requires no treatment and does not interfere with the normal function and purpose of the purchased Cat/Kitten, then NO refund or replacement will be given.
The purchaser will continue to maintain the health of the kitten with regular vaccination boosters by a qualified veterinarian and maintain regular and appropriate worming and parasite control programs for the kitten.
Ocivalley strongly recommends that for the best life expectancy of the cat that the kitten be kept inside throughout its life, and fed a premium kitten / cat food.

This agreement applies to Ocivalley and the purchaser and is non-transferable to other parties.

    4. Re-Homing;

If for some reason circumstances have changed for the owner and they can no longer keep the cat, Ocivalley Cattery will accept the return of the cat and will try to re-home the cat into a suitable family.

There will be no refund offered for return of the cat.
